AFH is offering a paid apprenticeship position for a passionate stylist who wants to make the beauty industry a career.
We are accepting applications from students currently in cosmetology school with more than 1,000 hours or currently licensed cosmetologists.
To start your apprenticeship you would begin working at the front desk as a salon coordinator, allowing you to work part-time while completing your required hours at school. Try on the culture of AFH. This also allows us to ensure you are the right fit.
We only work with 1-2 apprentices at a time meaning you will receive one-on-one coaching with educators who focus on your personal learning style.
You will work alongside your mentors as their salon assistant. Weekly classes include theory and mannequin work followed by models that you provide. The program covers blowdry styling; formal styling; cutting; smoothing treatments; color formulation; and color application. This program requires a 10 month commitment. Upon successful completion of the program, you may be offered a position as a commissioned stylist and will be considered a valuable member of the AFH Salon team.
As a commissioned stylist, you will receive competitive commission on services and product sales, group discounted insurance options through Aflac, retirement planning and product discounts for yourself and a friend or family member.
To apply, submit your resume along with 2-3 paragraphs describing why you want to be in the beauty industry, how an apprenticeship at AFH Salon fits your vision, and what you hope to gain from the experience.
If you are still in school please include verification of how many hours you have completed. Be sure to include desired position in the subject and body of your e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
